Put the Bunny back in the box

“Why couldn’t you just put the bunny back in the box?”.  It’s been a while since I last did a movie review, so here’s a review of a decent movie from a few year ago, Con Air.  The movie starts out by villianizing our hero, Cameron Poe (Nicholas Cage), sending him to jail for involuntary manslaughter (but since he’s an Army Ranger, he’s a deadly weapon).  Granted, in real life, it would be handled in a military court, and not a civilian court, but I digress.  He hops a ride home with a plane full of convicts headed to a new jail.  Star-studded cast, including Steve Buscemi, Nicholas Cage, Joh Malkovich, etc do this movie well.  Anyways, the plane gets hijacked, craziness ensues, and in the end Cameron winds up saving the day, bringing the plane down in Las Vegas.  I give this movie 1100 out of 1111.

Fever Pitch

Well folks, it’s been a long time since I last did a movie review, and it being Red Sox season again, I found it only appropriate to review Fever Pitch, a Farrelly Brothers movie starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. I will beign by saying that I laughed my ass off, as is usual for a Farrelly Brother flick. I must say that it was skewed more towards the romantic side of things, which was a change for the brothers, but that aside, it was still a good movie. The basic story is Drew Barrymore is a career driven woman and Jimmy Fallon is a Red Sox fan (who’s also a math teacher, which I thought was just cool). Needless to say, there are issues due to conflicts of interest (she needs to work, he’s a typical obsessed fan). It was a ton of fun throughout and rather than ruin the ending, I will say this: The Red Sox win the World Series. There was a bit of a change in the script at the last minute due to their actions last year. I must say it was a very good movie and I recommend it to anyone looking for a sappy love comedy. I give it a 1101 out of 1111.

Netflix

I know this isn’t a movie review folks, but it has to do with movies. Netflix now has some competition in the mailed movie service. Blockbuster has finally got their service up and running. But, they still can’t beat Netflix’s additional alternatives, such as 5 or even 8 movies at a time. The 5 movies at a time is for people who like to copy them, or with too much time on their hands, but they won’t tell you that, because it looks bad either way. Heh heh. Well, I just wanted to rant on something so this site doesn’t get too stale. Take it easy all and go to the movies.

Still, We Believe

That’s right, it’s movie review time once again, and tonight’s movie is Still, We Believe: A Red Sox Story. For those that don’t know, it’s the story of the 2003 Red Sox, and the season that ended in total heartbreak. Anyways, as the jacket binder says, the movies follows several fans throughout the season as well as select scenes from inside the locker room. All in all it brought back a lot of bad memories from last year, because I was living with a yankees fan at the time. Oh well. Anyways, I recommend this flick to any Red Sox fan, and give it a 1001 out of 1111.

The Big Empty

Well, it’s time once again for yet another movie review. This time I revie a Jon Favreau joint called The Big Empty. What can I say, except that after this movie I felt quite empty (Maybe that’s because I didn’t really leave my seat for any length of time because it was a pretty interesting movie). The movies stars Jon Favreau as a one hit wonder type actor who no one really knows, not even himself. Bonuses in this film are short scenes with Joey Lauren Adams of Chasing Amy fame and Rachel Leigh Cook of She’s All That and Josie and the Pussycats fame. Rachel Leigh Cook plays a teenage (almost 18 of course) who hits on Jon Facreau and really wants to get out of this small town she’s stuck in. The movie focuses on this blue bag (and then a blue bowling ball bag) that Jon Favreau has been sent to deliver and from there it really becomes a tall tale of sorts (Aliens, Desert, lots of weirdos, that sort of thing). In the end, well, let me just say it has an ending you’d never expect and I recommend watching it. I give this movie 1100 out of 1111.
