So this begins a new start for me .. back to living the bachelor life ..
But I think I will take something away from the past 4 years … eating better .. I’m going to cut down on my fats and salts primarily .. and eat more fruit. I picked up some mixed fruit and yogurt to try and start my days right. Unfortunately at this point in time, with the limited budget I have (until everything is fully worked out, anyways), I have to live like a college bachelor (for those that don’t know what it’s like, when you’re broke you eat a lot of bologna sandwiches and ramen) .. Maybe I should invest in the 1001 ways to prepare Ramen
. But next month (once I’ve got a full paycheck under me and in the bank) I should be able to get more fresh veggies (instead of frozen) to go with my plain Wal-Mart chicken breasts.
Did a lot of cleaning today as the place I’m in has been “abandoned” for some time. I threw away some beer from the fridge with a Born-On date back in 2006.
Between that and the mouse droppings, I was sick today. Kind of reminded me of camp a bit
The barresiwalker.com domain name will be expiring on February 26, 2010 (I just checked the expiration). Kind of poetic in a way since that will wind up being shortly after our 1 year mandatory separation. Nicole will be moving her blog at some point (I need to find a place that can import her posts from the old Wordpress setup), and I’ll repoint the domain. As always, my blog will stay here at blog.trugeek.us, where it’s been for many, many years (over 5 and counting).
And of course, in Red Sox news, pitchers and catchers report this coming week!! That means baseball season will be among us soon enough
. Woo hoo!!

16 Year Old Knuckleballer in Japan
Just interesting news. Of course, I took this from Joy of Sox’s site, but I give them full credit. A 16 year old girl in Japan throws a sidearm knuckleball after seeing videos of Tim Wakefield. She was just drafted by Japanese Baseball. Just how cool is that??

Well, the scientists and mathematicians are at it again. This time, they’re talking about sliding, and since my Sox seem to have a bunch of head first sliders, I guess that makes us just a hair quicker.
Rather than summing the whole thing up, here’s the Link

Wow, things have been so hectic that I haven’t had much time to write about our trip to Maine at all. First of all, the pics are up online at Picasa. Had a hell of a time. We went to NY first to drop off the kiddos. Got up bright and early to catch the ferry to Connecticut and then onward to Maine. We got near Lewiston and decided I’d call my grandmother who we’d planned to see. Well, let’s just say she wasn’t missing church for anything, not even me. So, change of plans number umpteen. We went to see Keith and Missy (Keith is the lead singer for Dead by 27 and a former bandmate and co-worker of mine and Missy is his wife). Sat around shooting the shit for about an hour or two and then hit the road to Brunswick. We’re crashing at my aunt Jackie’s place, so we can go get some Sushi from Freeport and hit the old Karaoke bar afterwards. Well let’s just say the sushi was good, but the Karaoke just didn’t feel the same (mostly due to the different crowd).
So after an uneventful night’s sleep, we hit the road to GLS. Of course, this being my first trip up in over two years, I want to see as many people as possible (and Nikki is a darling for putting up with it). So we stop in Winterport and have lunch with my old Lions club members (Russ and George … and David stopped in too). It was great to catch up and see that some things never change (as opposed to the Karaoke the night before). Then onto the second to last leg of our Maine journey (see, we now have to go back to Rumford to see my grandmother due to the previous day). We get to GLS and just begin to relax. But that’s for the next blog post.
